Perinet launches new periNODE Smart Adapter with 4–20 mA Interface

Berlin, July 11, 2025 – Perinet GmbH, the specialist for intelligent components in field-level digitization, expands its successful periNODE adapter series with a highly anticipated model: the periNODE 4–20 mA. This new smart adapter enables seamless integration of analog 4–20 mA sensors into modern IT infrastructures – using Single Pair Ethernet and fully encrypted end-to-end communication.

With this launch, Perinet addresses one of the most widely used signal types in industrial measurement technology. The 4–20 mA interface allows direct connection of field devices – for pressure, temperature, or flow monitoring – to IT systems, with no need for gateways or PLCs.

Bringing intelligence to the field – no PLC required

The adapter digitizes the analog sensor signal and transmits it directly via 100BASE-T1 (Single Pair Ethernet) using standard IT protocols such as HTTPS and MQTT – over a single cable for both power and data. It is powered by Perinet’s patented periCORE communication module and the proprietary sève OS platform. Configuration is done via WebUI or REST API. Data transfer intervals can be fully customized, optimizing network load and avoiding data silos.

Industrial-grade, secure, and future-ready

Designed for harsh environments, the periNODE 4–20 mA offers:

• Operating temperature range from ‑40 °C to +70 °C

• IP65/IP67 housing

• 24V power supply

• Low power consumption of only 0.6 W

The new adapter is also Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) ready:
It features TLS with ECC encryption, role-based access control (RBAC), X.509 certificate authentication, mTLS, and full IPv6 stack.
